We didn’t bother to check the final storm total but we were estimating around 20 inches on top of the previous storm’s base. This made us fairly confident we could do well to avoid most rocks.

There were quite a few tracks coming down Greeley Hill and skiers were beginning to track out lower Thirds and Gunsight. Once at the top of High Boy we saw that lower Baldy Shoulder also had some tracks on it. Our chosen run, High Boy was without a single track. This was very encouraging.

Nate dropped first and found fantastic snow and not a single rock all the way to the Tower 10 Traverse. He was actually able to carry speed. I followed and had a similar experience. We hit some rocks halfway down but decent snow was skied all the way to the bottom. Overall a great day for early October!
