For a month that typically brings loads of snow to Alta March hasn’t exactly been performing to it’s full potential.  We’ve seen one decent storm towards the beginning of the month but our long range forecast looks bleak and I doubt we’ll be making up for our dismal winter this month.

However, the skiing really isn’t half bad.  Groomers are grippy and smooth and off-trail conditions are holding up nicely with some great corn to be had.  Coverage is certainly taking a hit.  Trying to get into Gunsight now requires rock skis and the Thirds traverse is one hot day from becoming a scree field.  By mid-February I was telling myself March would put us back on track but I guess now I’ll have to root for April!
