With only three inches falling in the past few days you wouldn’t expect much, but the conditions at Alta today were actually pretty decent. The little amount of snow that fell did a great job smoothing things out and softening up those hard bumps that have been forming over the past week. The skies never cleared like forecasters were calling for but as long as you stuck to the trees the visibility never got too bad. We found some great turns in Eagles Nest, especially on the steeper slopes, and Thirds was also skiing ok if you could find a break in the clouds. Forecasts for next week are looking better and better with weekly totals looking to be in the 1-2 foot range…we’ll see.
