Today was a tale of two sessions. Our morning consisted of deep creamy snow and the storm still producing, with a little graupel mixed in. We started off with High Boy, it skied awesome from top to bottom. We took some runs in Thirds and Eagle’s Nest with similar results.
The afternoon sesh saw winds pick up a bit, the precip ended but the skies began to clear. Very few skiers had ventured into some of the upper lines between West Rustler and Jitterbug. There are still a few rocks and some bushes that are popping up out of the snow, so maybe that’s been deterring people. Either way it kept those lines smooth and almost untracked at least until 230 when we called it a day.
It was a fantastic day of skiing at Alta. The only thing missing was Supreme chair never opened and it would have been nice to end the day with a Rocky Patsey. Catherine’s should be excellent tomorrow though! Things are definitely starting to turn around for us in Utah. Let’s hope these tiny storms keep rolling in.
