Alta received 33 inches from this storm and a little extra during the day. It was a much anticipated powder ski day and we were up at the base of the canyon around 745, got to Alta by about 9. Lines were not terrible. I’m being generous, and positive.
We started out with a Lone Pine. First of the year, for some reason we’ve skipped it. Today also was the first time this season that it felt like mid-season conditions up there. Rocks seem to be well covered or noticeable.
The highlight was another first on the season, Keyhole. The snow was super deep and fluffy. We also skied some of the lines north of West Rustler and they skied smooth and rippable.
I don’t think I need to tell anyone, but the storms are lined up this week so it’s likely to go bananas at Alta over the next few days and weeks. Get you some!
