The 5″ overnight softened almost all of Alta’s crusty snow from the previous few days. In certain areas like Thirds and North Rustler the snow was skiing much deeper than the 5 inches reported.

The High Traverse has a very promising base. Rocks were still present but this early in the season that should be expected. The upper sidesteps are in pretty good shape too.

Eagle’s Nest has better coverage than we saw most of the past few seasons. High Boy and Regal Chute are filling in too. Greeley Bowl might have been the highlight of the day with smooth soft snow that allowed for some real and comfortable speed.  The forecast for tonight and beyond looks very promising with a storm total of up to 36″ by Wednesday!
