The snow keeps dumping at Alta. Too much actually. So much that the avalanche danger is extreme. Several areas including Thirds and Greeley broke off all the way down to the ground according to Alta Ski Patrol.

The wind was brutal today to the point where you couldn’t even see where you were skiing. The snow also showed signs of wind hammering.

We hiked a low Shoulder which had deep and playful turns. Most other runs were noticeably wind affected. Not much else opened up including the entire High Traverse.

All in all today was very disappointing. We waited in the front of the Collins chair line for two hours only to be unloaded at the angle station. And when we got to the base 5 minutes later they had already started loading skiers to the top for fresh tracks on Fred’s Trees. It was one of those days.
