Alta’s closing day was one to remember. It was so much fun you almost forgot they were closing a week early. The annual Frank and High Boy parties were bigger than ever with loads of entertainment all afternoon. There seemed to be quite a few injuries from the two events with multiple life flights spotted. Hopefully everyone is ok!
Down in the Goldminer’s parking lot, after the Frank World Ski Competition was over, live bands setup to usher Alta skiers into hibernation. Marinade and Stonefed lit up the dance floor with funky jams all afternoon. Stoke was high and Alta skier’s couldn’t have asked for much more from another epic closing day to the season. Thanks so much for all the support this year. We’ll see you in the fall!
This year’s 53rd Annual Frank World Classic Ski Competition was the place to be this past Sunday. With competitors throwing everything from high flying tricks to brutal crashes, spectators were treated to quite the show!
The venue wasn’t quite as done-up as last years with no tunnel or bump line to get creative in but the jumps were massive. Everything from misty 720’s to daffy-twister-spreads were being thrown and only one participant ended up getting hurt.
Frank hasn’t seen this many party-goers yet and the event only seems to be getting bigger and bigger. I hope everyone had a great time this year. Until next year’s Frank. Frank On!
Alta’s annual High Boy party has just been out done. The Frank World Classic Ski Competition is now the place to be on Alta’s closing day. Put on by The Deep Powder House’s Mike Trioli and friends this event features much more than High Boy’s beers and cocktails. Running from 12-3 p.m. the Frank party features a full-on ski competition where old school 70’s style skiing steals the show. Competitors must make their way down Punch Bowl and hit any number of kickers to showcase their innermost Frank. An array of prizes are awarded to those who most impress the scrutinizing judges. It truly is an Alta event not to miss. Until next year, Frank on!
