The Wasatch Snow Forecast suggested we ski in the afternoon today.  This plan did not disappoint.  From noon until the lifts closed the snow was coming down heavy as tracks got refilled and snow totals continued to mount.  The snow was light fluffy and plentiful on most areas accessed from the High Traverse (Thirds still closed.)  Lift lines were short too, which made for an amazing few hours of skiing.

The canyon road closed around 3pm for snow removal and as traffic got moving at 4:30 we realized authorities were metering traffic!  They were disallowing anyone from Snowbird to merge onto Highway 210 if traffic wasn’t clear.  This made for a much quicker commute down canyon.  Let’s hope this wasn’t a one time thing!

Tomorrow should be another amazing day with another 5-9″ predicted overnight!  Get up there early!

  1. Dude, 210 is totally Alta’s road. Dick Bass should make other arrangements for Snowbirders/boarders.
