The recent storm that dropped 31″ on Alta has really turned things around.  Skis are starting to slide around without having to put up fights with the rocks and stumps.  Alta Ski Patrol had their work cut out for them yesterday but after a full day of closure Alta’s terrain was ready for the masses.

Gates over by Wild Cat seemed to be opening higher and higher up giving access to some untracked late into the day.  Tower 10 was reportedly supposed to open in the afternoon but with preseason legs begging for a break we had to give up around 2:30.  Still have not heard any reports weather or not patrol actually got it open before closing.  Either way there is going to be plenty of fluff left up there for tomorrow.  Forecast looks to be clearing out with the possibility of a few extra inches tomorrow.
