Alta’s closing day brought lots of happy skiers ready to get their last laps in before summer officially begins.  Conditions held up nicely thanks to last weeks storms but unfortunately became really grabby in the afternoon.

We found our best turns by far on Gunsight.  If you were willing to deal with the sliver of snow side-step it was well worth your effort as the majority of the chute was butter-smooth and fast!  Thirds was a bit of a pain in the ass to get to with it’s long stretches of rock but skied really well up top.  High Boy skied decent and the bobsled course at the bottom made for some fun roller-coaster turns.

All and all Alta’s last day was one to remember.  Good people, crazy costumes, funky music, and skiing in May!  A big thank you to everyone for your support this year.  Stay tuned this summer for more reports as the snow continues to fly.
